What is scrol.ai ?

In February 2023, our startup, askCorpora.com, was born with a team of four dedicated members, including three skilled software developers. We swiftly developed and launched a minimum viable product (MVP), which gained significant traction on Reddit through our post here. The feedback we received was overwhelmingly positive, but concerns regarding data privacy were also raised—a challenge that, to our knowledge, remains unresolved to this day. As we observed the rapid growth of the "talk-to-your-data" product space, our primary focus remained on ensuring data accuracy. With my experience in the Big Four, I recognize the critical importance of delivering reliable, relevant, and precise data. Our team invested significant effort in enhancing accuracy by experimenting with various methods, such as modifying PDF chunking, optimizing data extraction formats, and implementing hybrid search. At that time, we utilized GPT-3, which now feels somewhat dated.

However, the advent of ChatGPT revolutionized our approach. We promptly integrated ChatGPT, also known as GPT-3.5-turbo, into our tool, and the results were astounding. The ability to utilize a substantially higher token count was a game-changer.

Despite our technological advancements, we faced challenges in keeping pace with the market. Numerous competitors emerged, offering similar "talk-to-your-PDF" solutions with a slightly better UI/UX experience user interfaces. Our motivation waned, but we ultimately resolved to restructure and relocate to Bengaluru, India. Now, working full-time on our product, we are excited about the future.

Our upcoming release and rebranding under scrol.ai will feature significant enhancements in both user interface and functionality, catering to small and medium-sized businesses seeking more than just basic PDF interaction. Our platform will support bulk uploads, document sharing, and multi-user collaboration—making it ideal for teams and individuals who desire instant access to information through natural language queries.
